The Epic Journey: Forest Primeval

The Watson Lake Sign Post Forest was initiated by a homesick soldier who painted a sign pointing the direction and distance to his Illinois hometown in 1942. As of June 26, 2009, when we visited, there were over 60,000 license plates, direction signs, city limit signs and other miscellania from all over the world (OK, maybe not Antarctica). Dinuba, California, is near Reedley, the Fresno-area town my mom was born and raised in. We left behind my Reagan Country license plate frame. I could rhapsodize about this place forever.
